Harrowing Road Trip

Standard
A group went to an orphanage about 3 hours out of town yesterday–well, it would have taken 3 hours, except for a wrong turn onto a different highway.

About 1.5 miles into the new road, they realized that we were going wrong, and the driver did a quick u turn.

The only problem?  It was a DIVIDED highway, so we drove back on the highway going in the wrong direction.

It’s like going down a one-way street in the wrong direction, only worse…

It was “ok” until the shoulder went away, and then we saw a semi truck bearing down toward us.  Fortunately there were two lanes, so we took one lane and the truck took the other.

We all breathed a huge sigh of relief when we reached the turnaround onto the correct highway…

but it got worse.

The driver really didn’t know where to go, so we took an exit and asked the guy in a toll booth, so we simply turned around at the toll booth and went the wrong way, again…..

and then, at a different exit, one more time, we spent about a mile going the wrong way on a highway, with yet another truck facing us head on.

THREE TIMES WE FACED DEATH IN THE EYES, AND SURVIVED!

If that’s not enough to make you a praying person and a believer in God, I don’t know what is…
