Welcome to the world, little one!
L.E. arrived on 12/2/09 at 11:25 am. She weighed 7 lb 11 oz, and was 20.5 cm long.
We were thrilled that everything went even smoother than we could have dreamed of or hoped for!
As you know, I was in BJ with Lu Ming, and Papa was at home with the girls awaiting my phone call.
In this situation, I was very grateful that my body thinks at least 24 hours have to go by between the onset of early labor and the actual birth.
I had some warning signs early in the morning 2 days prior to the due date, and made the call to Papa.
They caught a train departing at 1 pm and arriving here at 5 pm, and we were able to eat supper, put the kids to bed and spend a couple of hours discussing when to go to the hospital before finally deciding to go around 1 am.
A couple of little gifts in that regard: It was nice to not have to try to catch a taxi during rush hour, which could double the travel time. In addition, the moment we stepped onto the curb at 1 am, a taxi showed up to take us to the hospital.
Labor was, well, laborious.
At any rate, after a long and slow start, things moved rather quickly the final 30 minutes or so, and our newest family member was born at 11:25 that morning!
We were thrilled that no c-section was necessary.
The nursing staff and medical staff at the hospital were fantastic, and we would recommend to anyone to have their baby here! I felt very comfortable with the expertise of the OB and pediatric staff in case there would have been any complications.
Everything, ranging from cleanliness to courtesy to quality of patient meals was 5 stars all the way.
And the extra perks didn’t hurt either–the candlelight dinner with a bottle of wine on the second day…the pedicure that made me feel like a new woman again…
So, here are some pictures, and I will be posting more soon!
