Seen on the Great Wall

Standard

We took an excursion to Beijing over the May 1 Labor Day holiday, while the grandparents were here, and saw some sights including the Great Wall (which yours truly had not been to in December due to being 3 days postpartum when the other grandma and auntie came to visit).

They said it would be packed, and indeed it was.  Likee sardines swimming upstream, we all inched our way up and down the steps.

I found the inevitable fashion-conscious women in spiked heels, as well as a very distinguished older gentleman in pressed suit and shiny dress shoes, taking the steep and uneven steps very slowly, two feet per step, leaning on a younger relative.

We even saw some donkeys among the crowds climbing the Great Wall.  No Labor Day for these pack mules.

And of course, the group pose to prove we all did it!
