Da Ban

That means Big Class.

As in, the final of 3 years of preschool/kindergarten.

The other two years are aptly named xiao ban (little class) and zhong ban (middle class).

They routinely get breakfast, lunch and even an early supper plus a 2 hour nap at the school, for those who stay all day.

Our kid goes a half day, so she ends up eating 3 bowls of cereal or oatmeal at home in the morning then taking some bites of the rice gruel at school after arrival.

Her favorite?  the rolls with white cream inside them.

Sounds suspiciously like a donut to me.
