Taste of Culture

Glorious evening out on several counts last night:

a) babysitter watching the offspring

b) doorstep pickup and dropoff by our friends with a CAR (!)

c) ultracheap tickets and

d) not least, breathtaking acrobatics, dramatic dancing and traditional singing at shattering pitches.

My favorite fear-inducing act was the one with two youngsters doing a “parrot” act, hopping onto a big ring suspended from the ceiling and proceeding to spin, twirl, dangle and contort with amazing dexterity.

But I also liked the 20+ women banging on tympani drums, and the lotus flower contortionist, and the antique boat gliding across a smoky floor with musicians onboard.

The fabulous costumes, touches of humor by some of the performers and overall amazing talent was sheer pleasure.

So here’s the photo op, although it is a far second from the real thing.
