I am a little late posting about this very important fall event in our city due to technical issues, but nevertheless…
Last year our very energetic ultra-marathon pediatrician colleague and friend Katherine decided to rope a bunch of us couch potatoes into running a 10k, and we did.
There were 13 of us who ran, there were medals we brought food to share at the end, and someone even brought treats from the newly opened Dunkin Donuts in town.
It was so energizing that everyone thought we should do it again this September, and this time it was even better!
The registration balloned, and Katherine even got emails asking if there was a hotel package!
30 people ran 5 or 10K, there were medals, even more Dunkin Donuts, and a ton of community participation.
This time there was a small entry fee that was being donated 100% for orphans and foster children in our city.
And over 2400 RMB (about $375) was raised in the process!
Can’t wait for next year!
Oh, and the name of the race?
It means “more or less, approximately”.
Because it wasn’t a formal race with precisely measured distances or computer chips in the shoes, etc…
