PS About the Night Call

Standard

I just ran across this old photo of the Night Call kid in the previous post.

He had been out of the orphanage for a pretty short time, and was hospitalized with pneumonia and low oxygen levels.

He was recovering from ultra-severe malnutrition and had basically no immune protection when germs came along.

After a few days in the hospital, (and after my colleague went to bat because the nurses had the habit of turning off his oxygen at bedtime because it hadn’t been requested to be kept running…) he started to improve.

This picture was taken after he truly didn’t need the oxygen anymore.

Happy, happy!!
